Zilch to 5K

Walking & Running Program

2018 registration is now open! Download Registration Form

Classes begin April 12, 2018

In it’s 7th year, Zilch to 5K is a class where “fast” is a 13-minute pace!
A PT who specializes in feet will meet with you the first night of class to discuss foot and arch structure and running injuries and how to prevent them. The Tortoise and Hare staff will be on hand to help you find the right shoes for your arch type.
Participants are not expected to be at every walk/run. However, to get the most out of the class, doing the suggested workout for the day will be beneficial. Eve, the Back-of-the-Pack coach will be at all of the walk/runs to follow along with the class participants, and no one will ever have to walk or run alone. This class is intended for those who prefer to move slowly. We go at the pace of the person in the back. In participating in this class you will:
  • Learn how to run or walk a 5k safely
  • Learn how to use Theraband. Perform yoga and crosstraining and more!
  • Learn about proper attire, form, pacing, dynamic and static stretching, hydration, nutrition, and more!
